It took several years and several stages to complete finally the certification process in May 2019, when Masterplast acquired the official permissions of the Norwegian testing institute for Mastermax Premium 150 SA-2 breather roof underlays.
During the tests, our high-end breather membrane with integrated self-adhesive tapes has also successfully met the challenges of extreme weather conditions, which over the time have also forced the creation of the well-known, strict Norwegian building standards.
In the certification process, the toughest challenge was the multi-hour rainfall test in different temperature ranges performed at our roof model including several breakthrough points built on the spot – but this membrane still stood its own.
This independent Sintef certification is also the strictest in Scandinavian terms, so in Denmark, Sweden and Finland it is easier for institutes to accept the values measured during these tests, thus opening up new export sales opportunities to this traditionally closed market segment in the Northern European region.
These Mastermax breather membranes are confectioned and printed at the HQ of Masterplast in Sárszentmihály, Hungary according to the demand of the customers and at the same place adhesive tapes are also applied to the underlay by a separate production process.
Due to the time-saving solution speeding-up the installation work and ensuring a proper sealing, Mastermax SA-2 roof underlays with integrated self-adhesive tapes are becoming more and more popular among the roof builders today, so it is no wonder that there is a growing demand for such smart products recently.
